Friday marks the kickoff to the city of Hermiston’s Music & Movies in the Park summer entertainment series at Butte Park.
The month of July will feature three free concerts. The first concert will be Friday, July 12 with a performance by The Millionaires. The following week, on July 19, Oregon’s 234th Army Band will entertain the public. The final free concert at Butte Park will be a performance by The Knutzen Brothers.
The summer entertainment transitions to movies for the month of August with a showing of the 2010 version of The Karate Kid on Aug. 2. Two weeks later, the featured movie will be The Amazing Spider-Man on Aug. 16, followed by Oz the Great and Powerful on Aug. 23.
All concerts in July begin at 7 p.m. and all movies in August begin at 9 p.m. For more information, call the Parks and Recreation Department at 667-5018.
