After receiving a letter from a concerned citizen about speeding drivers on S.W. Joshua Court and S.W. 10th Street, the Hermiston City Council voted this week to install a new stop sign.

Hermiston Street Superintendent Ron Sivey informed the council that he received a letter from James Tiede of S.W. Joshua Court. Tiede said the area is “quite dangerous as cars tend to come into Joshua Court, then turn around and speed out when they realize it’s just a cul-de sac. There have been some close calls.”

The council voted to install the stop sign westbound on S.W. Joshua Court and S.W. 10th Street at a cost of $150 to the city.
