Clarence G. Buckmaster of Hermiston died on March 10, 2023 in Homedale, Idaho at the age of 75.

He was born on Sept. 19, 1947 in Whitefish, Mont.

Clarence, known as Bucky to his friends and family, was retired and lived with his daughter and mother in Hermiston. Bucky was born to the late Melvin Buckmaster and Dorothy Buckmaster. He was the oldest of three boys. At 18 he was drafted into the United States Army, where he served his country proudly. Bucky returned home and married the late Linda Buckmaster. They had three children, Marlene Stanger, Melvin Buckmaster and Becky Buckmaster.

Bucky worked as a Hyster mechanic at the Lamb Weston West plant in Boardman until he retired in 2012. He was a gardener, gamer, die-hard Nascar fan and a master craftsman with a profound love of books. Most of all he was a loving, caring, generous father, husband, son, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

Clarence “Bucky” is survived by his mother, Dorothy; brother, David; daughters, Marlene and Becky; son, Melvin; along with eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and his loving ferret, Curious George.

He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Goodbye, Dad. You’ll always be in our hearts.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Stokes Landing Senior Center, Irrigon.
