Clarence Proctor

Clarence Leroy Proctor of Irrigon passed away on March 4, 2023 in Hermiston at the age of 71.

He was born on Jan. 12, 1952 in Pendleton to Leroy “Rocky” and Juanita Hale Proctor.

He grew up on the family ranch in Irrigon and graduated from Riverside High School in 1971. He married Brenda Pourier on Feb. 7, 1970. They had three children and later divorced after 12 years of marriage.

Clarence loved the outdoors and spent much of his youth hunting and fishing with his family and close friends. He could fix almost anything; he was a welder and pipefitter by trade. He loved to work, and his career choice kept him on the road most of his life, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He spent many years traveling while working in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, California and Alaska until his retirement. He made many friends along his journey who enjoyed his sense of humor and ability to always have a good time.

He is survived by his three children, Holli (Joel) Clucas, Wendi Proctor and Russell Proctor; four grandchildren, Cole Clucas, Jaycie Perry, Andrew Byres and Sydnee Byres; one great granddaughter, Eden Perry; his mother, Juanita Proctor; four siblings, Patricia (Karl) Smith, Mike (Kay) Proctor, Mary Ann (Barry) Munkers and Theresa Proctor-Reece; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Clarence was preceded in death by his father, Leroy “Rocky” Proctor.

A celebration of life will be held later for family and close friends.
