Clinton Jackson Passes Away at 93

Clinton “Pa” Jackson died on June 24, 2018 in Hermiston at the age of 93.

He was born on March 12, 1925 in Waynesville, N.C. to Fred and Nora Norman Jackson.

Clinton grew up and attended school in Waynesville. He married Mattie Lee Mull in Clayton, Ga. on Nov. 10, 1945. The couple moved to Irrigon in the early 1950s and had resided in Irrigon and Hermiston since.

Clinton enjoyed being in the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping with his family at their favorite spot near the Middle Fork of the John Day. He was an avid gardener who took pride in his roses and tomatoes.

He is survived by a son, Steve (Ninette) Jackson; daughters, Janis (Scott) Barton and Lela Loftus; grandchildren, Lori, Joseph, Jill and Amanda; and great grandchildren, Spencer, Jakeob, Hunter, Andrew, Grace, Carter, Jackson, Faith and Dylan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie in 2000; son-in-law, Greg Loftus; two brothers; and two sisters.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Desert Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Irrigon. A dinner will follow the service at Stokes Landing Senior Center, 195 Opal Place, Irrigon.
