A Pacific Northwest business that got its start in Portland nearly a century ago has finally made it to Hermiston.

Consolidated Supply Co., which opened in January, held its grand opening on Thursday, April 25 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Hermiston Chamber of Commerce.

“We’re excited to be here and be part of the Hermiston community,” said Jason Multanen, vice president of operations.

Kyle Williams is the manager of the Hermiston branch of Consolidated Supply Co.

The fourth-generation wholesale company was founded in 1928 and provides plumbing, water works, and hydronics products to plumbers, utilities contractors, excavators, and municipalities. Consolidated Supply also offers products such as toilets, urinals, sinks, wash fountains, water heaters, water filters and more.

“We’re the middleman between the manufacturer and the end user,” branch manager Kyle Williams said.

Over the decades, the business has expanded to three states (including Washington and Idaho), 21 locations, and more than 500 employees. The Hermiston branch, located at 3103 S. Ott Road, has eight employees and Williams said he is looking to hire more.

Multanen said determining where to expand next is “a little bit of science and magic.”

In Hermiston’s case, the company saw a lot of potential for growth with all the new industry coming into the area.

“You have to have people and you’ve got to have industry,” he said. “It’s exciting to see all the data centers coming to the area and the growth that goes with that. This is a great area with a lot of opportunity for us to grow here.”

Consolidated Supply also includes The Fixture Gallery, a decorative plumbing showroom with 10 locations throughout the Pacific Northwest including Bend, Eugene, Salem, Kennewick, Pacific, Seattle, Boise, Coeur d’Alene, and Sandpoint with its flagship store in Tigard, where the company’s corporate office is also located.

Williams, who was born and raised in Hermiston, said the local branch works closely with several area businesses including Stone Ridge Contracting, Swaggart Enterprises, Silver Creek Contracting and the Port of Morrow, among others.
