The Hermiston City Council will meet tonight to confirm the appointment of Clara B. Fitzgerald to fill the council seat vacated when George Anderson resigned.
Anderson did not seek another term on the council this past spring and Fitzgerald was elected to succeed him in January 2015. Anderson, however, resigned in June, leaving his seat open. Fitzgerald applied to fill out the remainder of Anderson’s term.
The council will also consider a resolution requesting that Umatilla County maintain its Waste Recovery Goal at 20 percent of the waste stream.
Finally, the council will hold an executive session meeting to discuss “current litigation or litigation likely to be filed.”
The meeting is at 7 p.m. at Hermiston City Hall.
