Council to Hear Report on Pet Rescue

The Hermiston City Council will hear a report tonight on Pet Rescue, following complaints from people concerned about the animals sheltered in the facitlity.

Hermiston City Manager Byron Smith will report to the council findings he and Assistant Hermiston City Manager Mark Morgan made during a visit to Pet Rescue. The visit came after Smith met with those who shared their concerns about the facility during the Jan. 12 meeting. The city has a $30,000 annual contract with Pet Rescue.

The council will also consider a request that a piece of property at 1855 N.E. Second St., be annexed into the city.

Tonight’s meeting is at 7 p.m. at Hermiston City Hall.
