The Hermiston City Council will hold a public hearing tonight and consider for adoption its 2014-15 city budget, and will vote to approve a memorandum of understanding outlining services and compensation City Manager Ed Brookshier will provide to the city following his retirement.

The council will also consider a resolution amending parking restrictions on N.E. Second Street east of the United Methodist Church. If approved, the area will be marked as a loading zone, prohibiting parking on that side of the church at all times unless vehicles are loading or unloading.

The council will also consider a pair of street closure requests, one for W. Orchard Avenue on July 12 for a car show, and the other Main Street for the annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament from July 18-20.

Also tonight, the council will certify the results of the May 20 elections.

Following the council meeting, there will be a public hearing on the Hermiston Urban Renewal Agency budget for 2014-15. The agency will vote to adopt the budget following the hearing.

The council meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Hermiston City Hall.
