County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Suspect in Hermiston Motel Robbery

The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of robbing the Comfort Inn & Suites in Hermiston early Sunday morning.

Just before 1:30 a.m., the sheriff’s office received a report of a robbery at the motel located at 77514 S. Highway 207.

According to the report, a male subject entered the lobby, displayed a gun and demanded the clerk give him all the money in the cash drawer and safe. The clerk complied and the suspect left the building.

The sheriff’s office says the suspect is possibly Hispanic, approximately 6 feet tall, dark hair, wearing a light-colored jacket with a hood pulled over his face. He was carrying a dark-colored bag or backpack.

The sheriff’s office is working to retrieve surveillance video. It is expected that clearer photos will be released.
