Three people were injured Tuesday morning in a crash on Highway 395 about a mile north of Hermiston.
Just before 11:30 a.m., according to the Oregon State Police, a 2014 Chevrolet Impala operated by Ignacio Garay, 29, of Hermiston, was traveling southbound on Highway 395 when a 1993 Chevrolet Astro van, driven by Francis Browning, 78, pulled out from Oldfield Road into the path of the Impala, causing a collision that sent both vehicle off the roadway. Browning, and her passenger, Donna Browning, 90, were both seriously injured. Francis Browning was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected from her vehicle.
Both Brownings, from Spray, were transported by ambulance to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland. Garay was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center by a third party.
The highway was shut down for about one hour and OSP was assisted at the scene by Hermiston Fire and Ambulance, Oregon Department of Transportation, Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office and Umatilla Police Department.
