Umatilla County Fire District #1 crews put out a brush fire on Thursday morning on Stanfield Meadows Road near W. Coe Avenue.
Upon arrival, crews came across trees and brush on fire behind the Umatilla County shop on Stanfield Meadows Road. Crews used brush trucks and progressive hose lines to attack the fire before it spread across the Umatilla River.
The total size of the fire was approximately one acre. The cause of the fire was from an unattended fire left burning in a homeless camp near the Umatilla River. No injuries were reported.
