Wednesday brought more hot temperatures and another brush fire in Hermiston.
Today at 11:43 a.m. Umatilla County Fire District #1 was dispatched to a brush fire around 11:43 a.m. at mile marker 180 on Interstate 84 heading east.
Upon arrival, Brush 23’s initial attack was able to stop the flames from spreading. Brush 21 assisted in mopping up the area. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
Temperatures over the next several days will be sizzling with highs in the low 100s over the weekend.
