Fire crews put out a house fire in Hermiston on Thursday, Jan. 11.
Just after 4 p.m., Umatilla County Fire District #1 was dispatched to a reported structure fire on Calhoun Lane. Upon arrival, crews found the front of the house showing heavy smoke and flames.
Crews performed a transitional attack, first spraying water from the outside of the home, and then moving interior to fully extinguish the fire. Crews were able to locate and assist in the rescue of four dogs. No injuries were reported.
Mutual aid was provided by the Echo Fire Department and the Umatilla Rural Fire Protection District. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
