Umatilla County Fire District #1 was dispatched to a vehicle fire on Interstate 84 and Ordnance Road Wednesday morning.
While responding, dispatch notified first responders that a farmer was attempting to extinguish the fire with a water truck.
Upon arrival, crews extended a hose line from the front bumper of Engine 22. Crews used their tools to gain access to get water on the seat of the fire. Crews then used a circular saw to open the hood of the vehicle and extinguish flames in the engine bay.
No injuries were reported.
In a Facebook post, UCFD #1 thanked the farmer for the help.
