Crews will begin work to replace water lines on E. Main Street in Hermiston today, Oct. 2.
Residents who did not receive a written notice from Culbert Construction are not expected to have their water service affected.
The $1.8 million project will:
- Replace about 4,900 linear feet of water main line in downtown Hermiston with ductile iron pipe.
- Replace line along Gladys Avenue between N.E. Third Street and N.E. Seventh Street, and along E. Main Street between N.E. Fifth Street and N.E. Ninth Street, as well as small portions on E. Hurlburt and S.E. Seventh Street. (See map)
- Replace tees, valves, and old cast iron water line.
The city said reconstruction will depend on the condition of the pavement and the location of water mains. For more information, see the staff report on the project.
