Danny Christensen Passes Away at 65

Danny W. Christensen died on July 4, 2023 at his home in Hermiston at the age of 65.

He was born on Feb. 6, 1958 in Gallup, N.M.

Danny worked many jobs in his life including running a trading post in New Mexico. He came to Oregon in the late 1980s. Danny eventually bought his first semi truck and trailer, hauling products for various feed lots and farmers. He loved his 1999 Peterbilt with big chrome stacks. He met Laurie in 2008 and renewed his membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Danny married Laurie on May 29, 2015 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake temple in July 2016.

He had a quick wit and loved a good joke. Danny loved his children with all of his heart, and he took great pride and joy in watching them in their sporting events. He was by far their biggest fan.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie, Hermiston; brothers, Kelly Christensen, Jamestown, N.M., Shawn Gasparich, Gallup, N.M. and Glen Christensen, Farmington, N.M.; sisters, Kimberly Rich, Farmington, N.M. and Kipalee Prince, Las Vegas, Nev.; children, Dustin, Boise, Idaho, Devin, Hermiston, Dylan, Irrigon, Zachary, Stanfield and Tanner, Ellensburg, Wash.; step children, Klinton, Echo, Amanda and Lindsay, both of Hermiston, Chelsea, Walla Walla, Wash., Kember, La Grande and Rikki, Spokane, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and very special friends, Lonnie and Judy Lloyd.

Danny was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Laybourn; father, Maurice Christensen; step mother, Judy Christensen; baby daughter, Chelsi Ann Christensen; and both sets of grandparents.

Services will be announced.
