Darcy D. Gabriel of Stanfield died on Sept. 23, 2023 in Kennewick, Wash. at the age of 62.
She was born on Dec. 29, 1960 in Portland to Richard and Alyce Mason Rea.
Darcy was raised in Portland for a time before attending Ione Junior/Senior High School where she played tennis, was a cheerleader, and competed in competitive water skiing. She graduated in the class of 1979. Darcy moved to Hermiston and later met Greg Gabriel. They were united in marriage on Aug. 30, 1986 in Ione. They lived in Stanfield and she worked as a beautician for several years as their family grew. Darcy then worked for the Stanfield School District in many capacities over the years until she retired in 2018.
She was an avid golfer along with Greg, playing many of the courses near and far. Darcy loved water skiing, was a dedicated Packers and Beavers fan, and a fierce Stanfield Tigers supporter who enjoyed cribbage, RV-ing, and most of all cherished time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Tyler Gabriel and his wife Aileen, Stanfield, Travis Gabriel, Pasco, Wash. and Emma Gabriel, Burns; sister, Donna Kaseberg, Kennewick, Wash.; grandchildren, Royce and Ripp; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Darcy was preceded in death by her husband, Greg Gabriel and her parents.
A celebration of life service for Darcy and Greg will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Taylor’s Sale Barn, 30256 Stanfield Meadows Road.
A private family burial will be at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Stanfield.
