Darcy D. Tesch died on June 12, 2017 of complications related to his long battle with cancer.
He was born on April 4, 1954 in Fort Ord, Calif. His family moved several times before settling in Las Vegas, Nev., where he spent his formative years. He moved to Hermiston in 1976, shortly thereafter meeting his wife of 40 years, Deborah Thueson. They were married on Aug. 13, 1977 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Together they lived in Umatilla for the majority of those 40 years, raising four wonderful children.
Darcy provided well for his family, working as a machinist and later as a long-haul truck driver.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved family, boating, waterskiing, riding motorcycles, tinkering on projects, and traveling. He also enjoyed his daily dose of ice cream.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Daryl Tesch, and sister Joy.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah; sons, Jared of Pendleton and Brian and Kevin of West Pueblo, Colo.; daughter, Taunya Daniel of Hermiston; brother, Ben Tesch of Omaha, Neb.; sisters, Nancy Perl of Orem, Utah, Joan Fisler of San Diego, Calif. and Gerie Tesch of Las Vegas, Nev.; and 12 grandchildren.
Viewing will be held in the Relief Society Room at the Umatilla LDS Church, 15 Grant St., from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 19, 2017.
Funeral services were Monday, June 19, in the chapel of the Umatilla LDS Church. Burial followed at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Umatilla.
