Dave E. Newman of Hermiston passed away at his home in Hermiston on Dec. 21, 2023 at the age of 41.
He was born on April 22, 1982 in Hermiston at Good Shepherd Hospital, delivered by Dr. Douglas Flaiz. He was the son of Michael and Melinda Mann Newman.
Dave grew up in Umatilla where he received his education, graduating from Umatilla High School in the class of 2000. After high school, he traveled and explored life for a while. He ended up in Portland, staying and working for several years. He finished getting his degree in computer sciences from Clackamas Community College. By this time he decided to move back to Eastern Oregon and eventually studied for real estate, getting his license and going to work for his grandma Charlotte at her office, Universal Realty. He spent the next several years working in real estate.
Dave loved buying houses and fixing and remodeling them to sell to many people throughout the Hermiston area. He loved meeting new people and helping them find their new homes. He made Hermiston his home for the last several years.
He is survived by his parents, Mike and Melinda Newman; a sister, Laura (Hovering Laplante) Brannan; his grandmother, Marion Newman; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Wilma Mann, Stan Newman and Charlotte Dack; and his brother, Daniel J. Brannan.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024 at the Burns Mortuary Chapel, 685 W. Hermiston Ave.
A private burial will be in the Hermiston Cemetery.
