Saturday marks the official kick-off of fair week with the annual Umatilla County Fair Parade.
The deadline for parade entries is 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 30.
Applications for the parade can be downloaded from the county website or picked up at the fair office at 515 W. Orchard Ave. Completed applications can be faxed to the fair office at 541-567-8115 or emailed to fair@umatillacounty.net.
Entries are encouraged to depict the fair theme “Fun for the Whole Herd.” All entries will be judged.
The parade gets started at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2 on Highland Avenue by the high school. The route then turns onto S.W. Seventh, onto W. Hermiston Avenue and across Highway 395 on to Gladys Avenue. The route continues down N.E. Third Street, onto E. Main Street and crossing Highway 395 again onto W. Locust Avenue.
