The Umatilla Chemical Agent Disposal Facility (UMCDF) issued its sixth campaign coin this week to mark the “Demolition Complete” milestone.

Other “special event” coins have been issued, including a Project of the Year coin in 2012, as well as an Employee-led Team Challenge and Toxic Entry Excellence coins.

Project General Manager Julia Hamrick said the Demo Complete coin represents “our project’s diligence in following through on the commitment made by URS and the Army – to safely destroy the stockpile of munitions and agent, and then demolish the plant in accordance with our operating permit.”

Providing coins to celebrate milestone achievements is a long-standing tradition in the military and companies that contract with the Department of Defense entities.

The previous campaign coins included:
• Start of agent operations
• Completion of GB
• Completion of VX
• Completion of HD/Completion of Operations

All the coins issued at UMCDF were provided by the URS – the company that built, operated and demolished the facility – at no cost to the Army. The coins were distributed to UMCDF employees and select stakeholders (such as Army and corporate officials, and local officials such as county commissioners and Citizen Advisory Commission members).
