The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect after several stolen vehicles were recovered near Hermiston.
Detective Loren Westmoreland received a tip on July 11 regarding several stolen vehicles being stored on property on Echols Road. Detectives went to the location, served a search warrant and found and recovered two stolen Chevrolet pickups, a dump trailer, a cargo trailer, a John Deere front loader, a large amount of stolen copper wire and span cable, power tools, and many other items.
The suspect in the case is identified as Zachary L. Bartz, age 25. He was not at the location when search warrant was served and is still at large. Two other individuals were questioned and released at the scene.
