Dick Ingalls Sr. Passes Away at 89

Richard R. “Dick” Ingalls Sr. died on Dec. 15, 2020 at his home in Hermiston at the age of 89.

He was born on Feb. 12, 1931 in Bagley, Minn. to Eri and Ethel Ingalls.

Dick was raised in Minnesota before moving to Oregon. He joined the United States Navy in 1951 and served during the Korean War until his honorable discharge in 1955. Dick returned to Oregon, where he owned a logging company and later was an operator at Marigold Mining. He drove truck for Beco Trucking for many years until retiring in 2019 at the age of 88.

Dick married Noni Cox on Feb. 28, 2011 in Hermiston. He was a member of the Stanfield Moose Lodge, where he enjoyed playing cards and visiting. Dick enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Noni Cox, Hermiston; sons, Richard Ingalls Jr., Alberta, Canada and Ronald Ingalls, British Columbia, Canada; daughters, Kathleen Albert, Alberta, Canada and Deborah Kadun, British Columbia, Canada; brothers, Aaron Ingalls, Halfway and Knute Ingalls, Portland; sisters, Gracie Dellett, Troutdale, Ione Hovde, Minnesota, and Beannie Hobgood, Molalla; 12 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters; and a son, Lyle Ingalls.
