The Hermiston School District has announced that over the coming week it will partner with area law enforcement for K-9 officer training.
Coordinated through the Hermiston Police Department, a department K-9 and officer team will train in the secondary schools across the district.
With complex facility layouts, the Hermiston School District campuses provide excellent training grounds for K-9 drug detection dogs and their handlers, the district said in a press release. The officers and their K-9 units will participate in training scenarios and detections that will occur during the school day with minimal interruption to school operations.
“Hermiston School District has a strong partnership with area law enforcement agencies,” said Communications Officer Briana Cortaberria. “We are happy to further that partnership and open our doors to assist in the training of our regional K-9 teams.”
