Donna Mae Meade May 30, 1950-Aug. 21, 2013

Donna Mae Meade died on Wednesday Aug. 21, 2013 in Spokane, Wash.

She was born on May 30, 1950 in Pendleton. Donna was raised in Hermiston and graduated from Hermiston High School in the class of 1968. She lived and worked in Portland for many years and returned to the Hermiston/Pendleton area in 1991. She worked for Interpath Lab in Pendleton and eventually found her calling as the “Candy Lady” working for the broker, Kahler-Senders. She enjoyed spending time playing hostess to friends and family members as often as time allowed. Donna also loved cooking, gardening, and kayaking on the Columbia. She was active in helping and caring for members of the community when given the opportunity.

Donna was a caring and generous soul and made an impact on everyone she came in contact with. She was well loved by all that knew her.

She is survived by Mike Verstoppen; brother, Mike Meade, Portland; sisters, Pat Ewing, Milwaukie, and Gini Dodaro, Tigard; nephew, Sam Ewing, Eugene; nieces, Jennifer Dodaro, Portland andKristin Dodaro, Tigard; cousin, Ninette Jackson, Hermiston; and many close friends.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Gertrude Meade.

A graveside service was held on Saturday Aug. 24, 2013 at the Hermiston Cemetery. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in care of arrangements
