
Dora came to Hermiston at the age of 5. She was a member of the Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, and Eagles Auxiliary. She had worked as a clerical specialist for more than 25 years for the Oregon State Police.She married Gene Townsend on Aug. 18, 1977 in Hermiston.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Bruce J. Lytle and Randy L. Lytle; and brother, George Horning.
Dora is survived by her husband, Gene Townsend of Hermiston; two daughters, Cynthia M. Binge of Everett, Wash., and Cara J. Hosley of Hermiston; three brothers, Pius Horning and Dennis Horning, both of Hermiston, and Fred Horning of Pendleton; three stepchildren, Ed Townsend of Mill Creek, Wash., Jackie Nutter and Julie Ybarra, both of Spokane, Wash.,; and numerous grandchildren.
Recitation of the Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Hermiston Cemetery.
