Doris A. Kimbell of Hermiston died on May 26, 2016 in Umatilla at the age of 69.
She was born on Nov. 11, 1946 in Hermiston. Doris was raised and attended school in Hermiston. She was a care giver and worked at Good Shepherd Hospital as a certified nursing assistant for several years. Doris was a very talented person and loved crafts of most any kind. She knitted, crocheted, and made lots of jewelry and was very good at it. We are so blessed with the things she made for us. Doris loved to fish, go camping, and boating. She was a very active member of the Eagles Lodge for 34 years. Doris served as president twice and also as grandmother of the lodge.
She is survived by her longtime companion of 34 years: John “Deane” Graves, Hermiston, OR; sisters: Barbara Przybyla, Salem, OR, Jonilyn Poulson, Umatilla, OR; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents John and Dulcinea Kuhn, father: Stanley Green, sister: Lois Kuhn, and her grandparents.
A potluck celebration of Doris’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at McKenzie Park in Hermiston.
Doris lost her battle with cancer, but will live on in our hearts. Those who wish may make contributions in her memory to cancer research.
