The driver of a pickup truck died early Wednesday morning from injuries he suffered in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 84 near The Dalles.
On Wednesday, around 6:15 a.m., Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to the report of the crash on I-84 near milepost 89.
According to the OSP, a 2000 Dodge Ram truck, operated by Zachary Rivera, 32, from Mulino, was westbound on I-84 when the vehicle hit the guardrail, crossed both lanes, and went down an embankment on the south side of I-84.
Rivera was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Oregon State Police were assisted by Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
