A driver who hit the gas pedal instead of the brake Tuesday, Sept. 17, crashed into Banner Bank in downtown Pendleton.

Pendleton Police Chief Chuck Byram said police received a report that a woman rammed her vehicle into the bank at 125 SE Court Ave. Byram explained the woman was older and mistakenly hit the gas instead of the brake and crashed through the entrance.

The bank was operating as usual at the time of the crash. Byram confirmed no one was hurt, injured or transported to the hospital including the driver.

Crews the same day worked to sweep up shattered glass and remove the smashed doors from their hinges.

Banner Bank employees had no comment.
