Earl Leonard Howard Sr. of Hermiston passed away in Hermiston on Jan. 20, 2024 at the age of 86.
He was born on Sept. 10, 1937 in St. Helens to Harry and Mary Quinn Howard.
Earl grew up and attended schools in St. Helens. He then served in the U.S. Army for three years and was stationed in Germany. After his honorable discharge, he returned to St. Helens and began his career of working in sawmills. In 1990 he moved to Hermiston, where he worked for Simplot until retiring in 1999.
Earl enjoyed watching sports on television.
He is survived by his wife, Susana; four children; five step children; many grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Jones, Rose Muldoon and Barbara Day; and numerous extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024 at the Burns Mortuary Chapel.
