Earl Perry

Earl Robert Perry of Pendleton died on Aug. 27, 2018 in Richland, Wash. at the age of 76.

He was born on Nov. 30, 1941 in Newport, Wash. to Louis M. and Katherine Blackburn Perry.

Earl attended many different schools while growing up, as his father followed work in construction of the dams, Hanford, etc. He graduated from Wenatchee, Wash. High School in 1960. After graduating, he and several of his friends joined the U.S. Navy to see the world. His time of service was from 1960 to 1964. After his tour of duty, he returned to the Pilot Rock/Pendleton area. One of Earl’s favorite jobs after he retired from Hill Meat Co. was driving bus for Mid-Columbia Bus Company in Pendleton. He loved the children he had contact with each day and treated them with kindness as if each and every one was his own. A number of summers he drove firefighters from fire to fire.

His life was made full in 1997 when he and Trini Hank became forever partners. Trini brought two beautiful daughters into the relationship (Tiah and Calli). This in turn brought six cherished grandchildren into his life. His world was complete with love, laughter, respect, etc. when this happened. He is survived by Trini Hank; Tiah (Dave Slootweg) Glynn of Pilot Rock; Calli (Sonny) Gulick of Baker City; grandchildren, Tara, Megan and Beau Glynn, Taylor, Briley and Raegan Gulick, and Dennis and Linda Estrada of Woodburn; sister, Beverly (Chuck) Bonando of Pilot Rock; brother, Gerry Perry of Vancouver, Wash.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by brothers Vern, Mick and Stan; and sisters Vada Strickert and Penny Hoisington.

A celebration of life is planned at a later date.
