Eastern Oregon Got Soaked with Rain

Nearly two inches of rain fell near Meacham and 1.48 inches in Boardman during a 24-hour period ending at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, the National Weather Service reports.

Irrigon received 1.3 inches and the Hermiston Airport 1.16 inches. Cool and showery weather will continue this morning, the NWS said.

How often do you see 24-hour rainfall amounts on the east side of Washington and Oregon that are not only higher than the west side, but amounts that more than double the west side?

During the heavy rain, Meacham received 1.93 inches of rain, Adams received 1.86 inches of rain, Helix got 1.78 inches, and Athena received 1.62 inches of rain.

The forecast calls for mostly clear skies on Thursday, but rain could fall beginning Friday and continuing into Monday. High temperatures are expected to be in the mid- to upper-80s.
