The city of Echo will commemorate its 25th anniversary as a Tree City USA by naming its official tree – and the city wants residents’ help in selecting a name.

The Red Horse chestnut tree is located in the Fort Henrietta Park. Residents are asked to vote for their favorite name or submit their own choice. Residents can make their choice known on the city’s Facebook page. The Echo City Council will review the nominated names at its May meeting.

Once the tree is given its official name, it will be placed on a plaque to honor the city’s Tree City USA designation anniversary.
