It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Ed, 69. He passed away after a short but hard-fought battle with COPD and liver disease on April 20, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland.

He was born on Jan. 29, 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lorin Norton and Gloria Grundhaus.

Ed was employed in the roofing industry for over 45 years in California and Utah. He loved to golf and fish, he was always up for a good party or poker game, and was a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Shania Twain and barbeque sauce.

Ed leaves behind his daughter, Becky Gerety; grandchildren, Daniel Garcia and Kristina Gerety; sisters, Debie Roybal, Melanie Ferrin, Wendy (Richard) Ferrin and Rayona (Will) Butterfield; brothers, Dave Dyer and Vashell Julander; several nieces and nephews that adored him; too many friends to name; and his favorite hound dog, Pennie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Tudy Sewell and Alayna Corlett.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Burns Mortuary of Hermiston, 685 W. Hermiston Ave. at 11 a.m.
