Edna Wilson Passes Away at 85

Edna Deloris Wilson of Hermiston died on May 7, 2022 in Hermiston at the age of 85.

She was born on Oct. 13, 1936 in Heppner to Edgar and Mildred Wilson Morris.

Edna was raised and attended school in Heppner, graduating from Heppner High School in the class of 1954. While in high school, she began working as a nurse’s aide at Pioneer Memorial Hospital and continued to work there after graduating. Edna married Maynard Struthers Sr. and operated an in-home daycare for several years. Maynard passed away in 2001 and she later married John Wilson in 2005, and he passed away in October 2021.

She had lived in Hermiston for the past 30 years and was a member of the Umatilla Assembly of God. Edna enjoyed crocheting, needle point, crossword and word search puzzles.

She is survived by her daughter, Dena Wiese and her husband Lyle, Hammond; son, Joe Struthers and his wife Sarah, Clovis, N.M; sisters, Edie Morris, Prineville, Florence Nolan, Everett, Wash. and Doris Brosnan, Heppner; brothers, Kip Morris, Madras and Bob Morris, Condon; grandchildren, Aubry, Rebecca, Melissa, Bradley, David, Jonathan, Maria, Robyn, Tracy, Trudy and Trisha; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Edna was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; sons, Jack, Bill and Gary Struthers; and brothers, Jim and Randy Morris.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the Hermiston Cemetery.
