Elias “El Guero” Martinez Atilano, 75, passed away on Dec. 28, 2022 in Edinburg, Texas.
Elias was born on July 20, 1947 to Francisco and Victoria Atilano in San Juan de los Lagos, Jalisco, Mexico.
In 1970, Elias met Maria Elena in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Elias and Maria went on to have eight children, Juan, Daniel, Jose, Nora, Francisco, Victoria, Victor and Antonia.
He was a mechanic and truck driver. His hobbies were cooking, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife; eight children; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held at Burns Mortuary on Friday, Jan. 6, 2023 from 3 to 7 p.m., with a Recitation of the Rosary at 6 p.m.
Mass will be held at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023.
Burial will follow in the Hermiston Cemetery.
