Ellen Webb Conboy, former Condon, Arlington, Goldendale resident, died on Nov. 22, 2016 in Hermiston at the age of 85.
She was born on Feb. 24, 1931 in Condon to George and Veda Dyer Webb.
She was raised on the family ranch east of Mayville. A proud graduate of Mayville Grade School, she went on to graduate from Condon High School in 1949. While a high school student, during the annual Sadie Hawkins Day race she tagged Bill Conboy who had recently transferred to Condon from Glenwood, Wash. Bill and Ellen were married on June 2, 1951, in Condon. They moved to Glenwood in 1955. She was an avid 4H leader, sharing her sewing and knitting knowledge with the community. She then lived in Arlington. Upon retirement she moved to Goldendale, Wash.
She is survived by daughters Kathy Proctor and her husband Lucky, Grand Coulee, WA., Lynn Wilkins and her husband Bruce, living on the family ranch in Condon, OR, and son Scott Conboy of Goldendale. Eleven grandchildren mourn her passing. Shanna Gronquist and husband Kelly, Arlington, OR; Hud Wilkins and Jenny of Tacoma,WA; Gibb Wilkins, Condon, OR; Marne Curtis and PJ of Gooding, ID; Kaycee Ferguson and Ryan of Kennewick, WA; Shane Proctor and Jessi of Troutman, NC; Cody Proctor of Kennewick; Matt Loomis and Jailin Conboy of Ellensburg, WA; Seth Conboy of Rattan, Oklahoma; and Luke Conboy of Walla Walla, WA. She leaves behind ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Jim Webb.
A family gathering is planned at a later date and her ashes will be spread on the family ranch.
