Elvira Cervantes of Hermiston passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in her home in Hermiston on July 12, 2024 at the age of 79.
She was born on Nov. 2, 1944 in Wapato, Wash. to Alex and Carmen Estrada.
She and her husband, Jose, owned and operated a cleaning business in Hermiston for several years.
She is survived by her husband, Jose Cervantes; son, Michael Reyes; daughter, Lisa Reyes; son, Alexander Reyes; daughter, Maria Cervantes; daughter, Alicia Moore; sisters, Sally Estrada and Rosemary Martinez; brothers, Sylvester Estrada and Alex Estrada Jr.; six grandsons; and five granddaughters.
Elvira was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Carmen Estrada; as well as her brothers, Jesse Estrada, Rosendo Estrada and Clementine Estrada.
A memorial service in Spanish will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston.
A memorial service in English will follow at 12 noon at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 2260 N.E. Fourth St., Hermiston.
