For those who want to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast but don’t want to deal with all the cooking, table setting and cleanup, there are several savory alternatives throughout the area.
Free community Thanksgiving dinners are planned for Hermiston, Boardman and Irrigon on Thursday.
In Hermiston, the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held at the Hermiston Senior Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The meal is free. Volunteers are needed to help set up today and to serve and greet guests on Thanksgiving Day. For more information, call 541-567-3582.
In Boardman, the sixth annual Community Thanksgiving Celebration takes place from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Boardman Senior Center. A praise service will be held at 1:30 p.m. The senior center is located at 100 Tatone St. For more information, call 541-481-7612.
In Irrigon, a free Thanksgiving meal will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Family Worship Center for those in need, the elderly and folks without family. The center is located at 330 N.E. Eighth St. For more information, call 541-922-3054.
