The Eastern Oregon Trade and Event Center Authority (EOTEC) announced today that it has hired Frew Development Group, LLC to oversee the planning, design, and construction of the Eastern Oregon Trade and Event Center.
The project involves the construction of a new trade and event center, relocation of the Umatilla County Fair and Farm-City Pro Rodeo, with completion scheduled in time for the August 2016 fair and rodeo.
“The addition of Frew Development to our team is an important step forward in our plan to relocate to our new home,” said Chet Prior, EOTEC Authority Board Chairman. “After years of planning and preparation, it was important for us to secure the services of a company that has the experience and resources to move this project toward completion.”
“The execution of complex real estate development is our core competency and we are honored to join the EOTEC team,” said FDG President and CEO John Frew.
As part of the agreement approved by the EOTEC Authority Board of Directors today, FDG Senior Project Manager Gary Winsand will move to Hermiston to oversee the project on a full-time basis.
“This is an exciting project in a city with great energy and people that I look forward to working with,” said Winsand.
A collaboration between Umatilla County and the city of Hermiston, the Eastern Oregon Trade and Event Center will provide construction, financing, and long-term use of the Umatilla County Fair, Farm-City Pro Rodeo, a new trade and event center and related EOTEC infrastructure as a venue for family, sports, convention, trade, conference and entertainment shows and activities. The building is scheduled to open in 2016.
