Erline Joan Owen passed away in Boise, Idaho on Dec. 2, 2022 at the age of 89.
She was born on March 16, 1933 in Omaha, Neb. to Thelma Bently.
Erline was raised by her grandparents, Earl and Goldie Phillips in Nebraska, where she attended school. She moved to California as a teenager, where she lived for several years. In the 1950s she resided in Phoenix, Ariz. for many years. She moved to Oregon for the first time in the 1960s. She lived in various places until settling back in Oregon in the 1990s, making Hermiston her home for over 20 years.
Erline had a strong faith, and attending her church and reading her Bible were central to her life. She loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by a son, Robert (Linda) Gosnell; two granddaughters, Kelly and Anne and five additional grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Owen; daughter, Susie; son, Earl; her parents and all of her siblings; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the Hermiston Cemetery.
A celebration will follow at 1 p.m. at McNary Park in Umatilla.
