Etta F. McKenzie of Boardman, formerly of Madras, died on Sept. 4, 2019 in Hermiston at the age of 90.
She was born on Dec. 2, 1928 in Cottage Grove to John and Agnes Hall Cummings.
She was raised and attended schools in Southern Oregon. Etta was united in marriage to Kenneth Ray McKenzie on June 30, 1944 in Dallas. They lived in Prineville and later Madras for many years. After her husband passed away, Etta moved to Boardman in 1990. She made deliveries for Pam’s Posies in Boardman for several years.
Etta enjoyed camping, reading, cooking, sewing, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, playing pinochle, going on drives and cherished time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Sample and husband Larry, Boardman, Lyndell Bieker, Gresham, and Marietta Telfer and her husband Mike, Corvallis; grandchildren, Diana, Chellie, Erik, Phillip, Adam, Rob and Jeanne; 17 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Etta was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; son-in-law, Bob Bieker; three brothers, Leon, Raymond and Ralph; and a sister, Ethel.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Jefferson Memorial Park in Madras.
