Motorists traveling on Highway 204 should expect delays west of Elgin as pilot cars may be used to control traffic between mileposts 32 and 36.
The traffic control is needed to support Phillips Creek Fire crews and the movement of fire suppression equipment. The Oregon Department of Transportation is advising travelers to consider alternate routes to avoid smoke and fire crew traffic on the highway. If travel on Highway 204 is necessary, use extra caution, expect emergency vehicle traffic and limited visibility at times.
