The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office will continue to have extra deputies on duty during the Pendleton Round Up in an effort to increase visibility and deter people from engaging in intoxicated and/or distracted driving.
The extra coverage has already resulted in additional citizen contacts, and DUII arrests.
The Sheriff’s Office is participating in Oregon’s High Visibility Enforcement (HVE) grant program, looking for impaired drivers. Additional DUII and High Visibility Enforcement will continue through the weekend.
The Umatilla County Sheriff’s office is asking for your help in reporting suspected intoxicated drivers. If you see what you believe to be unsafe operation of a motor vehicle, call 541‐969‐3650, or 911 if it appears to be an emergency.
