The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office will conduct enhanced patrols on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17.
The primary intent of these DUII/High Visibility Enforcement (HVE) events is to increase the sheriff office’s presence in the community, and to prevent deaths from impaired drivers. The deputies of the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office are trained to recognize the signs of persons who are not only impaired by alcohol, but also by legal and illegal drugs, including prescriptions.
These events are funded through a grant from the Oregon State Sheriff’s Association.
Report suspected drunk drivers by calling 541‐966‐3650, or 911 if it appears to be an emergency.
