Fifth grader Estefany Sanchez of West Park Elementary in School in Hermiston has won Umatilla County’s Fun at the Fair Day Camp logo contest!

Contest organizers said out of all the entries, Estefany’s artwork best exemplified the 2016 Umatilla County Fair theme “Traditions & Transitions.” In addition to countywide recognition, she will receive two adult day passes, four children day passes, one Fun at the Fair Day Camp T-shirt and one carnival wristband (good for one day of rides) for the 2016 Umatill a County Fair. Estefany’s logo will be displayed on the Fun at the Fair Day Camp shirts that are worn by each child enrolled, on the Umatilla County Fair ’s website and Facebook page and on all Fun @ the Fair correspondence.

In its fifth year, the Day Camp will claim Estefany’s logo is only the third theme logo Created for the camp since the decision was made to hold a county wide logo contest two years ago.

Prizes will also be awarded to the second place winner Nathalie Hoyos, a fifth grader at West Park Elementary School in Hermiston; and to the third place winner, also a fifth grader Lily Wickstrom of West Park Elementary School in Hermiston.

Fair Manager Don Slone hopes to rally participation for the logo contest next year as it is offered to grades K-5 in Umatilla County. Logo contest information is emailed in the spring to all Umatilla County schools servicing K-5 grade students.

The winning logos can be viewed on the Fair’s Facebook page.
