The Umatilla County Fair and Farm-City Pro Rodeo gets under way today at the Eastern Oregon Trade & Event Center.
Gates open to the public at 10 a.m. each day of the fair and children 10 and under will be admitted free. The carnival opens at 2 p.m. and operates until 11 p.m. Wednesday through Friday with expanded hours of noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday. Carnival wristbands can be purchased for $35.
Tonight’s headliner is Petty Fever, a Tom Petty tribute band. All seats to the concert are free with a fair ticket. Thursday night will feature Home Free, a country a capella group. Friday night will be Latino Night with a five-band lineup. The final night of the fair will feature Nashville singer-songwriter Ryan Hurd.
Other entertainment that will go on throughout the week include Mz. Pearl’s Variety Show, The Magic of Lelando, Master Hypnotist Tyzen as well as Jugglemania.
The Farm-City Pro Rodeo kicks off tonight at 7:45 p.m. and will include two announcers this year – longtime Farm-City announcer Randy Corley and Garrett Yerigan.
Tonight is Family Night at the rodeo with children 3-12 admitted for just $5.
