The Hermiston City Council voted Monday night to expand its Faith-Based Advisory Committee from eight members to nine.
The action came at the request of committee Chairman Dr. Dean Hackett. The committee recently lost a member when Rev. Gene Berrey recently resigned and Hackett said the committee would benefit from having an additional member.
The vote by the council also included the confirmation of two new members to the committee. The Rev. James Lafolette of Oasis of Hope Church and Rev. Craig Fraley of the First Christian Church were confirmed to the committee on Monday.
The Faith-Based Advisory Committee serves to advise the city on issues where its goals cross paths with goals or programs currently offered by the faith-based community.
