Female Pedestrian Struck and Killed While Crossing Highway 395

A female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed Saturday night while attempting to cross Highway 395.

According to the Oregon State Police, the accident happened just after 10 p.m. near milepost 4.

The preliminary investigation indicated a 2014 Ford F150, operated by Jeffrey Dean Toms, 53, of Boardman, was traveling southbound in the slow lane when it struck a female pedestrian, Angela D. Beshers-Liles, 50, who was crossing in a non-crosswalk, unlighted section of the highway.

Beshers-Liles was pronounced dead at the scene by EMTs from the Umatilla County Fire District #1.

The highway was impacted for approximately four hours during the on-scene investigation.

OSP was also assisted by Umatilla County 911 Dispatch Center, Hermiston Police Department, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
